EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITES FOR RENAL TRAINED REGISTERED NURSES

The gorgeous Yorke and Northern region encompass the Yorke Peninsula and significant areas of the Spencer Gulf, Gulf of St Vincent, Southern Flinders Ranges and the Mid North of South Australia.

The Mid North region is SA’s gateway to the outback and Southern Flinders Ranges, it is renowned for its wonderful rural panoramas and unique country townships. The area is made up of dramatic landscapes and native wildlife and offers an abundance of activities to break up those workdays, including outback camping, four-wheel driving, cycling, and surfing. The beautiful Clare Valley sits within this region and offers some of Australia’s best wines with ample cellar doors to explore and enjoy.

YNLHN have permanent and temporary part time contracts for Registered Nurses wishing to work within the Renal Services at Maitland Hospital and Port Pirie Regional Health Service.

Renal services offered at each hospital are supported by renal medical specialists and offer services to clients located in both the Mid-North and Yorke Peninsula communities.

You will contribute to the delivery of professional, high quality patient care within the Renal Dialysis Unit at Port Pirie and Maitland Hospitals. Assessing individual patient needs, you will plan, implement, or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will also provide health education, counselling, and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual patients or groups. It is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing or midwifery care. Consolidating your knowledge and skills, you will develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team

Opportunities are also available for Registered Nurses employed in this role to expand and consolidate on additional skills within additional services at each hospital if desired.

Maitland Hospital

Located 173 kilometres from Adelaide on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, Maitland Hospital is a 16-bed acute and 12 bed aged care hospital. Services offered include 24-hours accident and emergency, acute and general medical services, renal and transitional care program.
Maitland is the main service and shopping town for this productive agricultural area on the Yorke Peninsula, boasting some of the best barley country in Australia. It is also near some of the best beaches, coastline, fishing, holiday destinations and is a great place to live and work, offering a wide range of lifestyles.
Maitland Hospital has four renal chairs which currently operate two sessions per day, three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and is seeking:

• Registered Nurse: Temporary P/T, 0.95 (36 hours per week) Commencing ASAP until 22 April 2023

Port Pirie Hospital

Port Pirie located 223 kilometres from Adelaide – known as the City of Friendly People
Port Pirie is a small City, nestled in the South Flinders Ranges as well as being situated on the Spencer Gulf, providing the perfect location on rolling hills meeting the beautiful coastline. It is a small drive to some of the most spectacular and diverse hiking trails
Port Pirie Hospital has four renal chairs which currently operate two sessions per day, six days per week (Monday through to Saturday) and is seeking:

• Registered Nurse: Permanent P/T, 0.63 (24 hours per week) Commencing ASAP

Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
