Crystal Brook Hospital
Crystal Brook is a charming town in the Mid North of South Australia, known for its scenic location at the base of the Flinders Ranges. Crystal Brook and District Hospital provides a range of essential health services to the community, operating 24/7 accident and emergency care and a variety of medical, surgical, and support services. Key offerings include:
Hospital Services:
- General medical and surgical care, including specialties like plastics surgery.
- Aged care assessment and aged residential care.
- Day therapy centres and delivered meals (Meals on Wheels).

About the Role
Enrolled Nurse employees assist the Registered Nurse/Midwife in delivering person-centred care that complies with regulatory and statutory standards. Their practice ranges from novice to proficient, with continuous development in their skills and knowledge.
While working under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Midwife, Enrolled Nurses retain responsibility for their actions and are accountable for the care they provide. The role includes:
- Providing care to aged care residents and acute care patients.
- Assisting the Registered Nurse in Accident and Emergency and Outpatient Departments.
- Supporting Medical Officers in Minor Procedures clinics.
- Opportunities to join the theatre team for surgical support.
Enrolled Nurses play a vital role in supporting the healthcare team while maintaining accountability for their own practice and contributing to patient care across various settings.
Crystal Brook District Hospital supports ongoing professional development, allowing Registered Nurses to pursue interests that align with the hospital’s diverse health service delivery. This enables nurses to broaden their expertise and contribute to various specialized care areas.
