About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to support our Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) in the fast-paced Emergency Department at PPRHS. In this leadership role, you’ll deliver person-centered clinical care and manage individual cases, while also mentoring less experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance Patient Care: Collaborate with the NUM and fellow ANUMs to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Drive Improvements: Assist in implementing practice changes that enhance patient outcomes.
  • Support Management Tasks: Work alongside the NUM on performance evaluations, recruitment, staffing, and financial planning.

Port Pirie Regional Health Service – Emergency Department

Port Pirie Emergency Department is a dynamic service which sees over 12,000 people per year inclusive of both adult and paediatric presentations.

Led by a dedicated, highly skilled, values driven leadership team, the department sees patients of varying acuity and is an up-transfer facility for many YNLHN sites. Port Pirie ED is a Code Stroke Thrombolysis centre with 24/7 access to CT and radiology.

The department is staffed and supported by medical officers and senior nurses providing comprehensive, high-quality emergency care to patients.

Essential Criteria

  • Registration: Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practicing certificate.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of post-registration nursing experience, or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Clinical Competence: Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, person-centered clinical care in a fast-paced environment.
