Exciting Opportunity to Make a Difference in Consumer Safety!

Join our passionate, multidisciplinary team at YNLHN, where we are committed to delivering exceptional healthcare to communities across South Australia. As a Consumer Safety Officer, you’ll provide expert leadership to enhance system-incident management and improve consumer safety across our health network.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Consumer Safety & Incident Manager, supporting initiatives like incident reporting, risk mitigation, and actioning safety improvements. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring our patients receive the safest, most equitable care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis or the London Protocol.
  • Ensure timely patient safety reporting for effective decision-making.
  • Collaborate to improve patient safety processes through the Safety Learning System (SLS).
  • Develop and track action plans for safety improvements and follow-up.
  • Foster a culture of safety through team collaboration, education, and practice changes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of post-registration experience.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills, particularly in incident management.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills, especially in report writing.
  • Ability to drive change management and improve safety culture.
  • Experience with clinical risk management and safety systems.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
