About Riverton District Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Wakefield Aged Care

Riverton Hospital has 7 acute beds and 20 RAC aged care beds. We are a small, yet dynamic hospital servicing the local town and surrounding communities. Linked onsite with the local GP clinic, you will be exposed to a variety of patient presentations from emergency retrieval, low priority attendances, palliation, long term aged care, and everything in between – there is something for everyone at Riverton Hospital!

Role overview

Your role as a nurse will be varied, exciting, and full of opportunity! Given we are a country hospital, our nurses are known for being able to manage whatever comes through our doors, whether it is a critical event or a low priority attendance. You will develop and maintain your skills in triage, acute emergency, mental health, palliation and so much more. In addition, our attached residential aged care facility will offer you a solid nursing foundation in the ongoing management of the care of our valued residents and the challenges and accomplishment that working in aged care can bring.

There will also be opportunity to take on additional portfolios such as blood management, palliative care, education of students, work health and safety, infection control and many others. We offer extensive education opportunities to all our nursing staff as well as opportunities for career advancement into specialist acute roles, education, management, and others. Wherever you want to head with your nursing career, we can help you get there in the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network.

Current Riverton vacancies:

  • Registered Nurse: Permanent P/T, 0.42 FTE (16 hours per week) Commencing ASAP
  • Registered Nurse: Temporary P/T, 0.84 FTE (32 hours per week) Commencing ASAP until 30/04/2025
  • Enrolled Nurse: Permanent P/T, 0.84 FTE (32 hours per week) Commencing ASAP until 30/04/2025
